As adults, we often forget the sense of wonder and whimsy in our daily lives; however, Ali Hughson from South Queensferry, Scotland has done something that proves the thought wrong. In order to fulfill his childhood fantasies, he has built a hobbit house-style workshop in the backyard of his home.
Being a fan of JRR Tolkien, he was struck with the idea of creating a Hobbit-themed workshop. It is a two-meter-tall shed that features a Hobbit-like green round door made by wood artist Ali himself. He spent almost six months and over £2,000 (about $2,700) building and perfecting his backyard workshop.
Ali has plans to turf the roof, plant flowers on top to attract bees and install a log burner and chimney in time for winter. His children Joe and Jamie as well as his neighbors love the creation and look forward to the finishing touches to be executed.

Arguably, Ali’s attempt is not really a hobbit hole but just a wooden garden shed with a round door mimicking a hobbit hole. Hobbits built into a hillside and have a good portion of their home underground, the workshop is anything like that, nonetheless, it’s appreciable for the attempt.
