We know a dog is a man’s best friend but how okay is it to spend $60,000 on a dog kennel? If you think I am kidding and no dog house would ever cost that much or anything near that, hop on to Louis Vuitton’s website and double-check for yourself. The French luxury fashion house has dropped a dog house dubbed the Kennel Trunk that will set you back $60K.
Designed by the company’s Creative Director, Pharrell Williams, the luxury dog house is repurposed from Louis Vuitton’s hardsided case. Unlike any of those Barkitecture prototypes and showpieces, this dog house is actually practical and features a roof and walls for insulation, while windows and doors are accoutered to maintain air circulation. On top of that, the door is removable while the bottom trunk can also be removed for cleaning.
What really makes the Kennel Trunk worth $60K is Louis Vuitton’s patent Monogram canvas exterior paired with gold hardware that adds opulence to the creation. On the inside, it features cowhide leather trim and luxurious Vuittonite lining that makes the kennel a statement piece. Louis Vuitton also mentions that the dog houses can receive hot stamping and painting services in stores to personalize the patch in the metallic name card holder.
The Kennel Trunk dog house is part of the company’s LVers collection slated for a release next year. The collection also comprises a $470 dog poop bag holder, a $2,330 Louis Vuitton flask holder, and a $2,160 leather dog bowl. With those price tags, it’s quite obvious that these are not for you and me, so we would have to wait for an Elon Musk or a Kim Kardashian to bag it!
