There is a good number of new-age designers who try to bring the best of old and new worlds together into their creations. Living Form Design Studies (a.ka. LFDS) was created in Sweden by Zhijian Xiong and Junhan Zhang just a year ago and today they are displaying their collection at the Stockholm yearly fair.
Though the start-up design house has not yet built something that will give them eyeballs and recognition, they are creating ripples with their design forays in segments like storage furniture and something as trivial as a candle holder.
Zhijian Xiong popularly known on Instagram as ‘@radar.man‘ created a lamp that everyone liked at the yearly fair in Sweden. Living Form 4 is a folding paper lamp marked by its sleek and innovative design that simplifies modern living in its unique way. Seemingly inspired by the art of Origami, this lamp looks like a floral being or sculpture that magnifies the ambiance of a living space. It can be used as a table lamp or you can just put it on a floor adjacent to your living room furniture to create a transcendent vibe.

Let’s delve deeper into the design and structure of this lightweight paper lamp. Living Form 4 Lamp has a considerable height of 30 cm and measures 10 cm in width. The basic structure of this lamp can be opened into two dimensions, and it has metal frames that are covered and hinged together. The surrounding mulberry paper forms the outer layer of the lamp. In this form, vertical screens are created around a glowing LED that comes along with this folding paper lamp.
Peculiarly, the screens can be adjusted at different angles to create unique forms for the lamp. By doing this, the users can also change the light effect in the living space. Living Form 4 Lamp is made using painted metal, Mulberry paper, and G4 LED. It has already been exhibited at Dutch Design Week and is currently being showcased at Stockholm Design Week 2025.
