If you are a dedicated downsizer who loves living life on the road and off-the-grid, there is no place better than Australia. The country has plenty of off-beat destinations and remote towns that are best suited for camping, hiking, and overlanding. On top of that, the Down Under nation doesn’t have as strict towing laws when compared to those in Europe or America. Hence, tiny houses are not so tough to sell in Australia, of which local tiny house manufacturers are taking advantage. One such maker is Artisan Tiny Homes.
The Queensland-based tiny house firm has designed dozens of tiny homes but the one that stands out is the Little Pardalote tiny house. Standing 14.1 feet high, this contemporary tiny house by Artisan Tiny Homes is based on a double-axle trailer. It measures 26 feet long and 7.8 feet wide, and packs the amenities required of full-time residences.
The tiny house features a living room that doubles as a bedroom, a fully-functional kitchen, a snug bathroom, and a loft bedroom with a skylight. All these features come packed inside an eucalyptus green and honey-toned timber exterior. It’s not only the two-tone exterior that will have you charmed, the tiny home also boasts generous glazing, including a skylight that lets owners fall asleep gazing at the stars.
Visitors enter the home via a glass sliding door to find a living room with a built-in couch, which can be pulled out to turn into a double bed when required. The make-shift bed sleeps two, with a large window framing the view of the outdoors. The living room also includes a fireplace with pressed tin backsplash and hanging pendant lights.
The kitchen is nearby. It includes dual units, an array of cabinets and drawers, countertop, tiled backsplash, a sink and a breakfast bar. Other notable features are a cooktop, an exhaust fan, and space for a microwave.

Adjacent to kitchen is an open staircase that adds a sense of lightness to the home and leads to the loft. Outfitted with a double-mattress, skylight, and windows, the loft bedroom is airy and bright. Underneath the bedroom lies the bathroom. It comes with a toilet, a shower, and a sink. The home looks light-filled thanks to all the glazing.
Akin to other tiny homes, the Little Pardalote tiny house gets power from a standard RV-style hookup and features cotton, linen, and hemp insulation in the floors and walls, with wood fiber insulation in the ceiling.
