Recently we reported that CES 2024 is going to be bigger, better, and more AI-oriented than ever before. The essence of it has begun to unfold with LG’s pre-CES press release. The South Korean giant has announced it will unveil a 98-inch QNED TV as part of its CES TV lineup this year. The TV set is powered by the a8 AI processor promising improvement in processing speed and graphic performance with certain machine learning antics that would put this TV in a league of its own.
The press release notes that the company will be unveiling QNED and QNED Mini LED TVs in various sizes at the forthcoming mega show in Vegas early next month. This will include the flagship 98-inch mammoth –with ultra-slim profile of only 29mm–yet offering higher dynamic range and color purity. While the 98-inch model is thrown in to cater to the growing demand for larger TVs, the extensive LG lineup also includes “43, 50, 55, 65, 75 and 86-inch”TVs.
The uniqueness begins at the AI Picture Pro, which utilizes deep learning to offer the ultimate picture quality. “This feature adeptly distinguishes faces, objects and backgrounds within a scene, enriching the texture and fine details to present images with unparalleled realism,” LG notes. With the Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro, the TV can split the picture into blocks and then in real-time analyze it to “detect the darkest and brightest” portions. A user can also pick selected images and customize their quality.
Enhanced picture quality is nothing without a good sound system to go with it. Given the fact, LG has aligned the QNED TV range with captivating AI Sound Pro capable of reaching “audio excellence of virtual 9.1.2 surround sound from the built-in speakers,” and integrated LG sound bar. Coupled with LG’s Quantum Dot and NanoCell color technologies, the TVs assure an immersive, 3D home entertainment experience alongside versatile personalization options.
