Level Home Inc. is a new entrant in the smart home industry. The company had introduced the Level Lock last year and has now started delivering the product. Touted as the world’s first invisible smart lock, it can be installed within a door with existing deadbolts, which minimizes the installation ordeal.
Designed by Feiz Design Studio, the Level smart door lock features a six-stage, stainless steel gearbox and a single CR2 battery that can power it for up to one year. It can be used with most standard deadbolts with an exterior profile greater than 19mm but it does not work with mortise locks.
The smart lock is compatible with HomeKit and can be controlled with voice commands to Siri. The compatible smartphone app can be used to lock and unlock the door or the lock can be set to open automatically. The app can also be used to share access and keep a track of entrants to the house.
With a HomeKit Hub, users can remotely control the door and configure automated routines for added convenience. The user is notified with a sound whenever the door is opened or closed, which is a small but practical feature. In terms of security, the Level Lock has an ANSI Grade 1/A certification – the highest residential security rating.
