Italian designer brand VGnewtrend or VG is known for creating unique and authentic items of interior décor. Treviso-based interior design company makes stylish tables using diverse materials combined with brilliant Italian craftsmanship. A gem in its table collection, the studio’s peculiar leaf-shaped table is an eye-catching art piece, comprising two layers of glass with thin slices of oak in between.
Dubbed Leaf Table Venezia, the tabletop contains two layers of glass (10mm each) that house thin sections of ‘briccole’ wood sourced from the retired oak poles that have been used to mark the navigable channels of the Venetian Lagoon for a thousand years. Straddling art and architecture, VG pays homage to the city of Venice and its briccole through this elegant table.
The table features a beautiful base finished in burnished brass with an asymmetrical shape sprouting several metal legs in the same finish. Leaf Table Venezia blends the natural allure of wood with glass that mirrors the transparency of water. The table forms a strict balance between elegance of shapes and consistency of timeless material.
