Gucci, the haute couture brand has been in talks for collaboration with Tacchini to create the chunky ‘Le Mura Sofa’ as a re-edition of 2022’s design. The sofa has a pleasant design that morphs into a multi-sensory experience. Mario Bellini, the prolific Italian architect and designer, designed the modular sofa to remind you of the majestic carved boulders of Roman walls.
Intended to be a part of the Gucci collection, the sofa sparkles in the fashion house’s new signature color – a shade of deepest red – Rosso Ancora. The brand’s creative director, Sabato De Sarno has brought back this vivacious oxblood red from the depths of Gucci archives and to the fashion world with a flair. It aligns with four other iconic pieces crafted with Gucci’s collaboration with famous Italian designers.
The Le Mura represents Gucci’s vision in dynamism with a shiny leather, three-seat sofa outline. Made out of three separate parts, the sofa creates islands of relaxation giving freedom of customized setup to your interior. It bears visible copper clasps and zippers that catch the eye and make a style statement.
The sofa exhibits a voluminous, enveloping shape that brings comfort, style, and stability. It features plastic glides on its base while the internal padding is cold foam with a memory foam upper layer covered with an interliner. The limited-edition series will feature only 100 pieces per product. If you wish to bring luxury with a hint of new red into your home, the sofa is priced at £17,960 (approximately $22,210).
The limited edition series comprises Gae Aulenti and Piero Castiglioni’s Parola lamp, Nanda Vigo’s Storet cabinet, Mario Bellini’s Le Mura sofa, Tobia Scarpa’s Opatchi vase and a new rug created by Nicolò Castellini Baldissera.
