We’ve seen cakes crafted in different shapes and characters before, but these artistic cakes in shape of junk food will make you do a double-take. These realistic cakes by self-taught baker Laura Loukaides are shaped in form of different junk food items such as bowls of pasta, pepperoni pizza, burger, donor kebabs, etc.
People will be fooled only when they look at these fast food-inspired cakes from a certain distance. But as they get a close-up, it is quite easier to find the difference. Nonetheless, imagine the confusion when your guests will be served with their favorite junk food – only to find that it’s filled with sweet layers of cake.
Hertfordshire-based cake artist has already won a host of awards, including the gold prize at Cake International – a sugarcraft, cake decorating and baking show. She started baking after watching the American TV series Cake Boss and also learned cake decorating skills by watching several YouTube tutorials.
Her biggest creation to date is a huge cake she made back in 2014. This sculptural cake appears to be a massive stack of food including pancakes, macaroons, a quarter pounder burger, corn on the cob and doughnuts.
You can see the images below of burger, cream eclair and corn on the cob – all entirely make of cake. Moreover, there is also a pizza cake, a sub-styled sandwich, profiteroles, a jam doughnut and baked beans.
