Jaguar Land Rover’s in-house SVO (Special Vehicle Operations) takes luxury, performance and functionality to a whole new level with custom Land Rover vehicles specially tailored to client’s needs. Obviously when celebrity chef Jamie Oliver stepped into SVO facility and imagined what his dream Land Rover Discovery vehicle would be (when it comes to cooking on the go), it was going to be something special. The team over at SVO surprised Jamie with a kitchen on wheels that exceeded the chef’s expectations.
This one off Land Rover Discovery has everything an avid foodie cook would dream of in a kitchen on wheels. Every inch of the space available on the SUV has been used smartly by the clever heads at SVO to bring never before seen functionality to the wheels.
Jamie’s reaction on what SVO have created for him and his family;
I gave Land Rover a massive challenge to create the ultimate kitchen on wheels. I dreamt big and asked for a lot, and what they’ve done has blown my mind. I didn’t think they’d actually be able to put a slow-cooker next to the engine and an olive oil dispenser in the boot, but they did.
# Under the hood
Other than the engine and other mechanical components inside the heart of this car, SVO team have fitted a slow-cooker adjacent to the engine which uses engines power and heat to cook all the boiled stuff. Well, that’s a clever use of energy, and who would have thought of baking pasta while one drives to the outskirts of the town.

# Inside the boot
Here is how SVO have managed to make optimum use of the large boot space of Discovery to fit a barbeque, kitchen worktop (that doubles as dining table), aluminum sink, gas hob and even a flat screen TV. Making smart use of all the space available, SVO have all the spice racks, oil dispensing pipes and other utilities in place for Jamie to do what he does best, that is cooking delicacies.
# Rolling wheels
Now, this one is interesting. The team got the idea to fit a butter churner on the three wheels which produces fresh butter as the vehicle rides on the roads. It can also be used to churn ice-cream if Jamie is driving it in the colder regions, as the fourth rear wheel has an ice-cream churner.
# The grill
Front grill of the SUV has a pasta maker attached to it which is driven by the engine power. It also connects to the rotisserie which rotates to smoke food. There’s a loose barbeque grill accessory which look exactly like the front grill of the car, and that makes absolute sense.
#The centre console
The team has fitted a toaster in the armrest of this SUV which again is driven by the engine’s power to prepare the perfect toasts for you. This two slice toaster is something that Jamie’s son loves as he can eat butter and jam toasts on the go.
# Inside the rear windows
As Jamie is obsessed with home grown herbs, SVO made it a point to incorporate a living herb garden in the rear right window. The herb garden can grow 8 herb plants which absolutely brings a smile to his face.
David Fairbairn, Head of Bespoke at SVO;
As a team, we never imagined we would be asked to produce wheels that churn butter so it has been great fun working alongside Jamie to bring his vision to life. He really wanted to push the boundaries of what was possible with this versatile vehicle and the team fully embraced the challenge.
Jamie is going to take this custom made Discovery on tour around the country, cooking for his family is some of the most breathtaking locations. He is going to share the experience on his Food Tube channel in a three-part-series, with first episode aired just yesterday.
