The myths and folklore have always been a great source of inspiration for creative people. Take Ladon Grill Restaurant in Tenerife, Spain, for instance. The interior designing studio estudi{H}ac has created this marvelous restaurant drawing inspiration from the Greek myth of The Garden of Hesperides.
According to mythology, Greek goddess Hera appointed a dragon called Ladon to protect the golden apples in her orchard from Hesperides, the evening nymphs.
The Greek myth-inspired the dreamlike structure of this restaurant evoking the elements of fantasy. The design studio has built an astounding structure distributed into various spaces with different textures, impressions, and shades. The anatomy of the restaurant combines the areas with tables, chairs and custom-made benches revising each part of the legend.
The color palette used in Ladon Restaurant is primarily dominated by the ash shades and the patches of earth, green and red are visible in various sections. Volcanic stone walls and floors, copper edifices, and black ceramic scales, which symbolize the dragon scales, collectively originate a tenuous feeling about the place.
The fire, which is inseparable from the dragon is depicted by the kitchen that is situated in the center of the space. Bright red chairs epitomize the heart of the creature and the set of lights represent its tail. The island’s folklore and plant life are represented by the large wooden slats used in the construction, which also symbolizes the dragon skin, made up of Drago tree of Canary Islands.
