LAD designs two luxurious container homes for Hometainer Italia

With house prices continued on an upward trend, shipping container homes have emerged out as an affordable and eco-friendly housing solution. More and more countries of the world are accepting the green building culture, and the result is that so many companies are transforming shipping containers into cozy homes and hotels. Italy-based design studio LAD has also dived into the hot building trend and designed two family homes out of shipping containers for the Hometainer Italia that also deals in shipping container homes.

These two-storey container villas will be built on a sloped location with sweeping views of rural central Italy. The front section of this dwelling stands over V-shaped supports The homes consist of 20′ high and 40′ high cubes placed on a concrete basement. Walls are going to be fully-insulated, and solar energy will power the house. There will be living rooms, kitchen and sleeping rooms and a studio to work from home.

Villa CH-S features narrow house layout and the Villa CH-O is a square-shaped dwelling with a central courtyard. Both container villas have similar floor plans with dining rooms positioned overlooking the rural landscape. These container home designs look really amazing, and after completion, they will be a beautiful example of contemporary, efficient and eco-friendly shipping container architecture in Italy.
