With Halloween approaching, Krispy Kreme is in full festive spirit. The American doughnut company has introduced its Ghostbuster-inspired doughnut collection in Mexico. It all started in 2014 when Krispy Kreme celebrated the 30th anniversary of Ghostbusters and launched themed marshmallow, Kreme-filled doughnuts in the United States and Canada. This year the classic sugary treat is coming to haunt and entice the appetite of the southern neighbors.
Featuring a lineup of four doughnuts, each inspired by classic Ghostbusters characters and iconic imagery. It includes Slimer, Stay Puft Marshmallow, a sprinkle-coated proton blast, and Mooglie the franchise’s no ghost logo.
While the lineup is heavily dominated by marshmallow flavor, there are other flavor combinations to burst your taste buds with sweet and sour. Flavors such as lemon filling and chocolate, original glazed with neon sprinkles and coating, marshmallow frosting and chocolate marshmallow man, and at last, chocolate coating, oreo cookie, and chocolate ghost are infused in the treats for you to enjoy this season.
Notably, the launch news came via a post on X where Krispy Kreme Mexico posted a short teaser with a caption saying, “Oops! We’ve broken the ecto container! And some ghosts have possessed this spooky season’s new Doughnut collection! Get ready to hunt down the best flavors this Halloween starting September 30th.”
Sadly, the collection is here for a limited time, available until November 3, 2024. You can get it at the nearest Krispy Kreme locations in Mexico. As for the availability around North America, no such announcements have been made so far. However, when the season of the spook is upon us, who knows what unearthly and scrumptious surprises may unfold, right? So, keep looking, and happy Halloween!
