As I saw the picture of Tentsile’s latest cabin, it made me hark back to my primary school days, when my drawing teacher used to ask me to draw scenery of my choice. I have no shame in admitting the fact that I was inept with the particular art and had the most unartistic hand in my class. Despite lagging the skillset required to draw something beautiful, my go-to option was drawing a hut and a tree adjacent to it. The reason I am bringing this up is that Tentsile’s latest creation is an insulated suspended cabin that looks akin to a hut in my old drawing sheets.
The British outdoor and sporting goods company is famed for its award-winning camping hammocks and tree tents and has upped the ante for its competitors with the latest camping gear that can be used in ground mode or suspended between a Tentsile tree tent and a giant hammock for a floating shelter like no other. Now you must be pondering, why do I bring other tents to the picture so early? This is because the Insulated Cabin is frameless and non-waterproof and counts on the existing Tentsile product range for its structure and balance.
The biggest USP of the latest Tentsile Insulated Cabin is obviously its insulation feature which is the primary reason behind dubbing the structure by the same name as well. Ideal for cool weather camping, it can go underneath the Stingray tree tent and can even be used on the ground with a ground conversion kit. Moreover, it can further be placed atop the Trillium hammock. The choice is yours to make.
There are ample storage options available inside the Insulated Cabin. Pockets in three corners as well as on the windows help you house your nitty-gritty items. The windows open to allow fresh air inside and come accoutered with a mesh layer to keep the bugs at bay.
Weighing 28.6lbs, the tent is made of breathable 40D polyester fabric on the outside and filled with 220g of hollow-fiber polyester that will keep you warm in extreme weather conditions. Overall, it is an ideal hut for housing three people.
