Many of us admire vintage items simply because we see them as unique home decor accessories that can turn the dullest room into a welcoming place with a touch of retro.
If you are someone who loves to turn antiques into modern utility, then here’s your grand chance to get inspired. England-based furniture maker Smithers of Stamford is currently offering a cool industrial style bathroom cabinet made from a metal jerrycan, unique and handcrafted piece from World War II (WWII) era.
Originally called “Wehrmacht-Einheitskanister”, this was created by the Germans to carry 20 liters of fuel, it was called the jerrycan in England since English referred to a German as Jerry during WWII and their fuel tank as Can – thus jerrycan was christened.
These wall-mounted jerrycan cabinets hold within themselves a centuries-old feeling, they are designed to assist men while shaving and have two shelves and a mirror behind its door. The cabinet also features rear brackets to screw on the wall.
These unique bathroom cabinets are manufactured in a limited number. Available for about £220 ($285), they will surely add industrial essence to a bathroom. If you wish to own one of these relics, have it before the stock of 50 runs out.
