Determined to create a new drinking experience, Kirin Co. Ltd., in collaboration with White Inc. is all set to launch world’s first smartphone-controlled LED plastic bottle cap. Called Illumicap, an innovative Internet of Things (IoT) project, the removable cap is embedded with functions that goes far beyond any ordinary cap.
The cap is installed with a Bluetooth module and an LED, which emits light downwards. Designed to illuminate the whole plastic bottle, the plastic cap is provided with an dedicated mobile application that allows it to sense and react to music, thus illuminating various colors. Illumicap comes with three main features that are controlled and communicated by smartphone application.
Color Sync:
Choose the color you like via the smartphone app and manage cap’s color and brightness.
Music Sync:
Pick a song and watch the color change to match the music playing on your smartphone.
Motion Sync:
Colors change in sync with user’s movement (acquired with motion sensors that change the color of light).
Apart from these three functions, the smartphone-controlled plastic cap is also added with additional features such as, light line camera for long exposure shooting and share on SNS feature to share illumicap performance photos with friends.
Focused on getting the cap to the market by the end of 2016, White Inc. holds the license of selling the cap.
