Home automation has given us better opportunities to make lives simpler and convenient. But when we talk about smart lighting, we don’t have limited options such as Philips Hue, Sylvania or some other startups. If you have made up your mind to come out of the old era of incandescent bulbs, then world’s large furniture retailer IKEA has brought the opportunity by offering Tradfri smart lighting series internationally.
The collection includes a variety of dimmable LED bulbs that are plug & play lighting solutions to add requisite warmth to space. IKEA smart bulbs use ZigBee Light Link technology to let users control or switch between color temperatures remotely. However, you will need the companion internet gateway device to take control over all of your IKEA smart lights.
Users are provided with a remote control or the companion mobile app can be used to create different moods, light control different rooms and lights, mist, brightness or change the color temperature. Multiple lights connect to each other in a chain, so there aremultiple ways to control them.
Tradfri smart bulbs are energy-efficient as they are based on LED technology, and if you are looking to change the lighting of your home then you can try them. You can snatch a few at the nearby departmental stores after 31st March or book at its official website.
IKEA is offering its variants in different combinations. You can buy it with a motion sensor unit to control using motion gestures of your hand, simply with a remote control or a complete set with dimmer and gateway. You can even order IKEA smart LED bulbs with different type of base options.
Update:
IKEA has unveiled its plans to add voice control functionality to its Tradfri smart lighting series during the summer and early autumn this year. After this update, users will be able to control their smart lighting with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and using Apple’s Home app or voice commands to Siri. It serves as a plug and play solution so you need not to hire any professional electrician and install additional fittings.
