IKEA has released the sixth edition of its Nytillverkad collection that reimagines solitary chairs, customizable shelves, and other furnishings from its archives. The newest collection takes its cues from mid-century designs from the 1960s to 1990s. It includes bold and vibrant patterns that can be tailored to specific styles and design preferences of modern times.
There are four new standalone chairs in this collection. Designers featured include Neils Gammelgaard’s steel tube easy chair MOFALLA, which was also introduced in the IKEA catalog of 1978 as COX; Gill Lundgren’s easy chair previously known as MILA from 1967 comes back as DYVLINGE swivel armchair in bold orange; and SOTENAS armchair, introduced in 1968 as PUCK comes in exquisite red.
In addition to the chairs, this collection also entails Neils Gammelgaard’s GUIDE shelving unit from 1985, launching as BYAKORRE. It is an opening shelving unit, switching the mood of your home with its elegant design. These reversible shelves are white on one side and anthracite grey on the other, with shelf edges in different colors such as blue, green, yellow, red and plain white.
IKEA collection also features the NOVETTE benches of Danish designer Erik Wørts. Originally designed in 1963, the benches are updated as GUTTANE side and coffee tables. The tables have been upgraded with solid oak legs and oak veneer tabletops that look aesthetic and elegant. They also include a ledge, offering a space to catch stray magazines and cups that tend to fall from the edges.

The collection also features textiles, including ÄNGSVITVINGE bed linen. It has a print of blue clouds against a white background, which takes its cues from the textile designer Sven Fristedt’s blue and white pattern from 1973. The sixth edition of the Nytillverkad collection will be available globally in IKEA stores starting February 2025.
