IKEA has launched the Inspelning smart plug that can measure the energy consumption of devices plugged in, and allows you to control household appliances remotely. This plug monitors the power usage via the IKEA Home smart app Eye Insights, so you can keep track of power usage and make adjustments to lower electricity bills. You can add the DIRIGERA hub and IKEA Home app to remotely control the plug through voice assistants like Amazon, Apple Home Kit, or Hey Google.
The smart home accessory will be useful for people who forget to turn off their appliances, lights, or air conditioning while leaving the house. Now they can keep a check on running appliances and devices even when there not home and turn them off.
The Inspelning plug is 1.75 inches tall and made out of polycarbonate plastic. You can connect up to 10 plugs to one remote control or motion sensor and regulate it with the IKEA Home to turn the plug on or off. It also can schedule and automate things like lighting and other appliances that lack built-in smart features.
The smart notifies if your small appliances like coffee maker, lamp, or other household gadgets are turned off properly. You can even track the actual time and date of the energy consumed by the appliances via the app anywhere, anytime.
