At Milan Design Week 2022, Swedish furniture manufacturer IKEA will be celebrating life at home with the ‘IKEA Festival’. Following the theme of this year’s Fuorisalone ‘Between Space and Time’, IKEA is hosting a dynamic schedule of events and immersive experiences to showcase the future of retail and design during the festival.
The festival will explore relationship between people and ever-evolving homes, in order to show the importance of improving everyday life to create a mindful home. The IKEA Festival will be host to Ögonblick – A Life at home exhibition, a fascinating physical and digital installation inspired by H22, a project in Helsingborg, Sweden which aims to build “the sustainable city of the future”.
As the name suggests, Ögonblick means ‘moment’ in Swedish. IKEA wants people to discover how different moments in life are reflected in their home life.
IKEA will also be previewing its upcoming collections and talks with long-term collaborators and in-house designers at the festival. This event will feature Fredrika Inger, Global Range Manger at IKEA of Sweden, Design Manager Johan Ejdemo, in-house Designers Mikael Axelsson and Friso Wiersma, long-term collaborator and UK-based Designer Ilse Crawford, Rotterdam-based Designer Sabine Marcelis among many more.
