IKEA, the world’s largest furniture retailer needs no introduction. The company keeps bringing new designs for buyers around the globe. DYVLINGE swivel armchair for instance is one highlight offering a distinct approach to relaxing furniture.
This is a furniture piece inspired by the design of the MILA swivel armchair that was initially conceived by a designer named Gillis Lundgren in IKEA’s 1967 catalog. The initial design was itself inspired by low-riding cars of that era. Therefore, the sitting position is naturally relaxing for the whole body.
It was a huge success back then and with the DYVLINGE swivel armchair, the Swedish furniture house aims to create the same story. It is part of the Nytillverkad collection which gives new life to many IKEA classic furniture pieces.
This swivel chair has a star-shaped cross base with five legs in place of four so that there is no risk of tipping. The lining of DVYLINGE is made out of 100 percent polypropylene. The frame comprises felt, epoxy, steel, and polyester powder coating. The base is made of steel with chrome plating to give it a nice finishing touch.

The filling has been done with 70 percent cut polyurethane foam, Polyester hollow fibers, and 30 percent polyester fibers. It looks comforting and is a furniture piece that can be added to any home if you like low-lying chairs. It can serve as a lounge chair so you can snuggle in there when you want to relax or take a quick nap.
The best part is that the chair is easily movable. Generally, we see sofas -of similar sizes – that are too comfortable to sit but most of them are heavy to move around. The DYVLINGE swivel armchair gives you that liberty and makes cleaning the space underneath easy. It is available on the IKEA in green and black color options for €199 (approximately $220).
