There are many big brands coming out with a Google Assistant-powered speaker and the latest one joining the smart home frenzy is the leading audio brand, Harman Kardon. They are launching a smart speaker with built-in Google Assistant at Europe’s biggest consumer technology show, IFA. Named Citation 500, it will be available for preorder in Europe by the end of September this year.
The Citation 500 speaker is adorned with a unique textile wrap from Danish design textile brand Kvadrat. It comes with a two-way speaker system with a passive radiator that creates detailed, room-filling sound expected from Harman Kardon.
As detailed by The Verge, it has 200W stereo speakers and supports 24 bit/96Khz high-definition audio streaming, which showcases it much better in terms of sound quality. There’s a touch panel at the top of the speaker for manual control, though you can always use voice commands to control the playback remotely.

The standout feature is the integration of Google Assistant, allowing the Citation 500 smart speaker to be controlled by voice commands, as well as making it possible to operate compatible smart home products. It is supposed to cost about $600 USD, and will be available for preorder next month.
Apparently, the Harman Kardon Citation 500 smart loudspeaker has won the EISA Best Product Award for 2018-19.
