Once upon a time, tiny houses were rustic, minimal, and really compact. As time passed, manufacturers and builders took it upon themselves to evolve the movement through clever designs and spacious models. Today, tiny houses provide a comfortable lifestyle without compromising on utilities or space. Canada-based Fritz Tiny Homes is spearing the era of smart and storage-friendly tiny homes with its Halcyon Tiny House series.
A semi-custom model, Halcyon is named after the mythical bird that creates its nest in the midst of the sea. It also embodies the meaning of the adjective that denotes calm and serene, exactly what Fritz Tiny Homes aspires to provide to its clients. Designed to be an oasis of calm, the highly customizable house has two variations called Halcyon 01 and Halcyon 02, with two more coming soon.
The first in the series, the Halcyon 01 is a truly stunning dwelling with plenty of clever storage choices and a drop-floor loft. The 28-foot-long home features a sustainable design with luxury finishes. The Halcyon 01 is bathed in natural light thanks to eight fiberglass windows and a full glass door. Custom concrete tiles and hardwood accents provide a stark contrast to the white interior while the LED lights integrated into the wood beams on the ceiling illuminate the living space.
Designed for two people, the tiny home features an open living room with a convertible couch that becomes a bunk bed should you need to house guests. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area cum workspace, a lot of under-counter storage, and a spa-like bathroom with a bathtub.

The front glass door opens into the spacious living room that is well-lit with numerous, large fiberglass windows. The space also features dimmable LED lights to keep the vibe intimate and cozy. Next to the living room is the kitchen which features a concrete countertop, a three-burner Furrion stove with an oven, microwave, and storage cabinets.
A staircase with handrail leads to the main sleeping loft that features plenty of headroom and a drop floor, allowing the user to stand upright. A closet with deep drawers is built next to the queen-size bed, while two large windows make the loft feel airy and bright. The headboard of the bed features an alcove, serving essentially as a side table. Moreover, there is a ledge to keep books, plants or decorative items.
The ground floor also houses the customizable bathroom past the kitchen through a sliding door. It can be fitted with either a shower, bathtub, or both. It also features a custom concrete sink vanity, an option between a waterless or flush toilet, and a washer/dryer combination concealed inside a large utility cabinet.

Halycon 01 can be customized with a solar system and a fully off-grid package. Beginning at $144,500, the customizable and high-end Halcyon tiny home comes for a bargain.
“We’re finalizing the renderings on Halcyon Stay and Halcyon Luxe, and that will be four semi-custom set floor plan units. Our clients get to choose wood species, fixtures, a tub, and a shower. We also provide them with a choice of what utility package they want for their home. Whether it’s full off-grid solar, features a flush toilet or a waterless toilet. So, it’s completely customizable,” Fritz Tiny Homes co-founder Heather told Homecrux.
