GoBQ grill is a lightweight, easy to transport foldable grill by Eric Goeken and Todd Zaroban from Illinois, Chicago. The portable grill is made using fiberglass coated with silicon to withstand high temperatures. However, there are many portable tailgating grills available in the market, but they are not compact enough to be packed in a backpack or carry by foot.
The outer look gives an impression that the grill would give way to the flames, but heat and flame resistant fabric, which is FDA approved material commonly used in baking and oven mats, enables it to withstand temperature over 1200oF. Another key feature of the grill is that it cools down faster than metal, which means you are ready to pack it soon after the fire is out.
The 14×14” cooking grate weighs just 8lb (3.6 kg) and is a fully functional charcoal grill with a lid enough to feed the whole family. Designed in a manner that it can be effortlessly packed according to your handiness, it becomes a perfect getaway gear for camping, hiking, fishing, biking, or just for backdoor picnic.
The duo is now looking forward to bring the GoBQ grill to the market with a helping hand from the online fundraising portal Indiegogo. They have already raised US$32,570 of US$30,000 goal and will begin shipping in August, 2015 if everything goes as planned. You can also save the grill for yourself by donating as low as US$120.
