I wouldn’t say I am a hardcore Star Wars fan but I do love George Lucas’ epic space opera franchise. I mean who didn’t love little Anakin as he outraced cunning outlaws on Tatooine in a thrilling race? Although the Phantom Menace’s Force failed to move the fans as the original trilogy, the origin of Darth Vader was something that we all enjoyed. Besides, the movie gave us the home planet of Luke Skywalker on the Outer Rim, so can’t complain. Bringing the desert planet of Tatooine to life in Utah, OutpostX is a wellness retreat and theme park packed in a luxury location an hour and a half from Zion National Park.
The OutpostX is sprawled over 240 acres of rugged desert landscape in Utah, this luxury glamping retreat is a futuristic eco-lodge. Featuring opulent activities such as a hot clay spa, a rock cave with waterfalls and hot tubs, and sci-fi-inspired fully-functional private sand cruisers; the OutpostX will make you feel like you have stumbled into another realm through a portal in the space-time fabric.
Created by former movie set creator Travis Chambers, OutpostX is part of Chamber Stays, which aims to create accommodation that reminds one of the most surreal movie backdrops. The glamping retreat has 10 different glamping units divided into four unique styles, each brimming with sci-fi themes. One is Fantasy Lux, which is a luxury cave house with faux stone, plenty of glazing, and a bed that moves outside on some kind of sliding mechanism to allow guests to stargaze.

Cave Villa is another model that is similar but a smaller getaway and is a non-luxury version of Fantasy Lux. Then there is the Zen Lux, which features a transparent dome providing stunning views of starry nights. It has a one-way mirrored bathroom to enjoy showers in a semi-outdoor environment with required privacy.
The fourth is the Sky Lodge, which has been designed by survivalist Matt Graham. Inspired by Bali treehouses, it has a king-size ceiling bed and a deck area. To ward off the desert heat, each unit comes with air-conditioning.
The luxury glamping resort also features some alluring amenities. It will include a spa, sauna, Jacuzzi, bonfire, and pottery classes for the guests who wish to partake in recreational activities. Moreover, there will be five sand cruiser vehicles for the guests to get around.

The eco-lodge also runs on solar power, allowing an off-grid operation, with makers aiming to add a water reservoir, plant a poplar forest, and erect a transparent dome spa soon for a much more exciting experience.
Chambers’ brainchild is about 80 percent completed and is scheduled to open up later this year. The ambitious desert project, which looks like a modern-day Tatooine, is up on an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, with one night stay in the Sky Lodge costing $315. The other lodging are high in price and you may want to wait till the OutpostX is up and running.
