Barbeques are fun but with the pain to be conducted in the open. Not anymore! The new GE smart kitchen appliance is going to solve this problem. Ready to set the CES 2024 stage on fire without smoke, the GE Profile Smart Indoor Smoker is a countertop device that allows cooking with wood pellets indoors without triggering a smoke alarm. Arguably, this will change the entire barbeque experience without having to go outdoors.
Dubbed the world’s first indoor smoker, the appliance is outfitted with Active Smoke Filtration. According to GE, the technology “uses heat and a highly engineered catalyst system to turn real-wood smoke into warm air packed with flavor.” The airflow setup of the appliance is modeled to offer maximum flavor to a variety of foods. The seals and gaskets keep the smoke inside the countertop cooker, instead of spreading it throughout the kitchen thus ensuring the alarms don’t go off.
Designed with the limited countertop space in mind, the GE Profile Smoker can prepare smoked brisket and pork butt to cocktail garnishes and everything in between. With a Smart Smoke Generation System, the appliance controls the temperature to get the perfect aroma using far fewer wood pellets compared to the amount used for outdoor smoking. This feature has two different heat sources – one for cooking food, the other for burning pellets – for accurate temperature control.

Its Active Smoke Filtration transforms the real wood smoke into warm air. There are five adjustable settings to choose from including a hint of smoke and full barbecue-smoke taste. A digital dial and the presets help determine the precise smoking process allowing for fine-tuning smoke intensity and temperature.
GE Profile Indoor Smoker comes with six presets including brisket, pork ribs, pork butt, chicken wings, chicken breast, and salmon. Additionally, a built-in temperature probe helps monitor the cooking process, while the Auto Warm function keeps food at an ideal temperature for up to 24 hours. Isn’t that something?

The countertop smoker has a counter guard, drip pan, temperature probe, and holder, three wire racks, and two removable ladder racks. It is Wi-Fi-enabled to facilitate working with the free SmartHQ app to control it from a smartphone and connect with Alexa and Google Assistant. Consequently, you can set smoke levels and monitor your food remotely. The app will also provide guided recipes for step-by-step smoking.
The GE Profile Smart Indoor Smoker will be displayed at CES 2024. However, it is available for purchase at Williams Sonoma and Best Buy for $999.
