Tired of boring lighting fixtures and clutter of messy wires to fix them? Well, you can now add refreshing and glowing touch to your interior with wireless Flyte lightbulb designed by Simon Morris. This is a unique lightbulb that floats in mid-air atop its wooden base, using Tesla laws of magnetic induction powered by air. It basically comprises of LED bulb with wireless power receiver and electromagnet in its bottom.
Within the wooden base there is a wireless power transmitter and another electromagnet, providing smooth magnetic levitation without any friction. Due to these technicalities, you can place the bulb over its base and it will freely start floating through magnetic power within the specific magnetic field. The wooden base further plugs into a standard power outlet, allowing the users to turn light on/off with a single touch. Additionally, the base doubles as a wireless charging station for your smartphone when light is not needed.
This wooden base is available in different materials such as sourced ash, oak or walnut; you can choose any one as per your preference. Flyte is highly energy-efficient lightbulb and can work continuously for approximately 50,000 hours. The project has successfully surpassed the target amount of about $80,000 on Kickstarter and still 27 days are remaining for the campaign. It will surely revolutionize the lighting solutions in any modern home or office, after its commercial launch.
