Pizza has to be one of the most favorite foods around the world. The fluffy, cheesy goodness – thanks Italy – with your desired toppings slick with delicious sauce is irresistible. And while, not all of us can go backpacking in Western Europe to have that authentic slice of heaven, we try our hands at baking it at home. If you have ever tried to make pizza at home, you know how tricky it is. Either the oven pops out a piece of bread burnt to a crisp or a half-baked raw bread because you have to keep guessing the temperature inside the pizza oven. Well, not anymore. Meet the Fat Tony, a gas-powered pizza oven that lets you nail that slice of Naples baked to a perfection with digital temperature monitoring.
This ultimate pizza oven is designed by BURNHARD a German outdoor cooking brand. The young brand comprises a group of grillers passionate to elevate outdoor cooking experience and that is where the Fat Tony comes in. Having completed its crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter with a bang, the Fat Tony promises to provide consistent high heat thanks to its L-shaped burner that produces long and rolling flames baking your pizza from behind and the side.
The gas-powered pizza oven comes with a heat shield that can capture heat up to 650 degree Celsius inside the stone and preheats within 20 minutes to provide optimum temperatures for finest baking. The heat shield also allows you to bake with excellent results in windy conditions as it protects the flames from flickering or going out and keeping the temperature inside the oven toasty.
The sturdy construction of the Fat Tony features powder-coated steel exterior and high-quality stainless steel baking chamber and heat shield. A cordierite stone is placed in the center of the baking chamber to mimic the baking process of brick ovens and allowing the dough to bake evenly.
Moreover, the appliance comes with digital heat management, dual-zone monitoring system and digital display thermometer to allow control over the baking process. The dual-zone system keeps the baking chamber and the stone at optimum temperature for baking. You can regulate the gas flames with a regulation knob on the side. The oven has a presets for classic and Neopolitan pizza styles or you can go with no preset as well.
The oven weighs 47.4 lbs and has an LED display for outdoor settings. If you like the gas-powered pizza oven, you can pre-order Fat Tony at an early bird price of €350 ($378).
