Oregon-based builder Tru Form Tiny has been on an evolutionary streak. After launching a handful of base models, the company keeps experimenting with various layouts and configurations to better cater to its vast clientele in North America. A case in point is the latest Farmhouse Kootenay tiny house. This Kootenay measures 33 feet long and 8.5 feet wide. But what is so special about this unit? Well, it features a downstairs bedroom with a hydraulic storage bed, living room with a tiled fireplace, giant loft, complete kitchen, full bathroom, and tons of storage.
The Farmhouse Kootenay is far superior than the company’s previous 28-foot Kootenay: It has a main-floor bedroom with sliding door for privacy, whereas the older version had a rustic charm with two lofts. While they both can accommodate a maximum of four people, the beauty of the new Kootenay is undeniable. Not only it expands the length and adds a private room, but finds a way to add a fireplace, which is something Tru Form Tiny has been experimenting with a lot lately.
The newly unveiled tiny house has a bright interior thanks to a gaggle of windows. There is no lack of storage options as the builder has outfitted each corner of the micro-dwelling with cabinets, shelves, and cubbies so the residents can have their essentials within an arm’s reach. Downsizing doesn’t mean you have to discard everything you own, just eliminate things you could do without.
The main-floor bedroom has a queen-size bed, flanked by cabinets and a tiny loft section above the bed for storage. The sliding door, while offers a sense of privacy, doesn’t keep sound from escaping like in traditional homes; but hey, depends on what sort of privacy you are looking for.
The open-floor living room and kitchen provide the homeliest feel. The living room has a big couch with drawers underneath. It snuggly sits between the loft stairs and the privacy wall for the downstairs bedroom. The space also has a tiny coffee table and a heat shielded tiled fireplace that features Terra Flame fire features with little logs and stones. Even though you cannot get an actual fire going in this beautiful farmhouse-style fireplace, it adds that extra spice to the space.
Next is the kitchen with all the modern appliances including a three-burner cooktop, oven, refrigerator, range hood. It also has a generous countertop, drying rack, cutting board, large sink, and plenty of storage options. But the highlight in the kitchen lies in the movable island that works as a dining table and workstation as well. When not in use, you can slide it to the side to keep it out of the way and vice-versa.

Facing the cooking area is a storage-integrated staircase leading to the versatile loft brimming with potential. The loft can be used as a second bedroom, a lounge area, recreational space, or home office. It can fit a king-size mattress and has storage cubbies. Built under the stairs is a closet and multiple drawers to keep things organized.
The entrance of the house is next to the stair closet. Adjacent to it is the bathroom with a full-height shower, a flush toilet, open shelving, a concrete sink, and an arched cabinet. Outside the bathroom, a washer/dryer unit is tucked into a giant closet with another closet facing it.
Currently on sale for $174,900, the Farmhouse Kootenay definitely has the country house charm down to a nail. With an abundance of storage options, this micro-dwelling will make a perfect home for a couple or a small family.
