I am a slow eater who cannot finish a bowl of ice cream before it melts, or eat up pasta before it turns cold, leaving me with a plateful of clumpy cold cheese that’s just not palatable. While this may seem trivial to people who practically inhale their food; for someone like me, it can get really irritating. Thankfully, there are innovators like the Vietnam-based ZENLET Home that understand the solemnity of the issue and have created the Eternos serving bowl.
What’s so special about a bowl, you ask? Well, Eternos is not your ordinary utensil; the innovative bowl locks in heat or cold, and elevates flavors for a gourmet experience at home. With its unique thermal stability, the Eternos ensures that the flavors remain intact no matter how much you delay the consumption.
The Eternos bowl has a capacity of 33.8oz., and measures 8.7 inches in diameter and 2.8 inches in depth. The large size makes it perfect for a wide range of dishes, from warm soups to fresh salads. It is currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter, where you can get it for an early bird price of $37. But it’s not the price point that won me over. It’s the ability to eat a perfect, chilled scoop of ice cream even 30 minutes after putting it in the dish.
In Eternos, your food will always taste freshly made, from soups to pasta with lasting flavors. The serveware combines insulation technology with a versatile design. It has a patented three-layer design for unparalleled thermal stability. The inner food-contact layer and outer shell are made from Tritan TX2001, a material known for longevity and food-safe traits.
There is a core of silicone infused with Cold-Heat Fiber Gel inserted between the inner and outer layers. It is the middle layer that acts as a dynamic thermal reservoir when pre-chilled or heated. This gel absorbs, stores, and conducts temperature to keep the bowl’s internal setting steadily cool or warm. The three layers are fused with ultrasonic vacuum welding into an airtight, waterproof layer.
Eternos is microwave- and refrigerator-safe, which makes it easier to handle. If you pop it up in the microwave for 30-60 seconds, the gel layer preheats, which further holds and radiates heat keeping your food at optimal temperature. So you no longer have to eat soggy popcorn or fries when you reach the bottom of the barrel. Each kernel stays warm, fresh, and crunchy.

The same goes for its cold dishes. You only need to place Eternos in the refrigerator for 15 minutes and the gel absorbs and maintains cold. This means I can enjoy my ice cream with perfect textures – no dripping – even after 30 minutes of putting it in the bowl.
You can put sushi, sashimi, or other fish delicacies in Eternos serving bowl without worrying about them going bad as the cool temperature keeps the fish firm and flavor intact. You can even pack up a light lunch or salad in this bowl and it will remain fresh even after a long commute without refrigeration. Now that is a food-related deal I like!
