The builder from Modustrial Maker found a piece of unidentified wood stump and created an exceptional epoxy resin table. Mike, one of the builders, got his hands on a mysterious piece of wood, which the seller called swamp wood, and decided to be creative with it. He knew it was going to be an arduous process and require a lot of effort in cutting the wood pieces, but as they say, creativity knows no bounds.
The swamp wood has a mangrove root-like structure and the fluted cross-section looks like a flower. To turn this raw wood log into functional furniture is just brilliant. However, the making process is not easy, but the builder has done it with great precision and love.
He carefully cut the log into equal pieces and polished them to achieve a flat and smooth surface. After the log was cut into seven pieces, they were assembled to form the base of the table.
Before pouring the resin, he created a mold using a landscape border from a local store and applied a bead of caulk to the sides of a melamine form. When the mold was completely dried out, the stumps were placed upside down on it. Next was mixing and pouring the epoxy around the stumps. The first pour of clear epoxy formed air bubbles, but the second pour with a darker pigment came out nice and easy, giving the table an attractive moody vibe.

After the curing process, Mike popped off the top of the table and revealed a stunning epoxy resin table before polishing and sanding. Considering the time and effort, the table came out to be just perfect and is ready to serve.
The stump’s cross-section can be distinctly seen through the tabletop, which looks mesmerizing. The sides of the table base come with the swamp wood’s root-like profile preserved.
