Duffy London is well known for one-of-a-kind furniture that plays around with gravity, geometry, and illusion. Case in point the Balloon Table and Megalith Table that appears to be falling off! Keeping up with its distinctive design approach, the UK-based studio has launched a table named Serenity. It is a single-piece console table that appears to defy the rules of gravity.
Serenity console table is formed from three distinct blocks, each one made of powder-coated mild steel, or highly polished stainless steel to create a mirrored reflective surface. These blocks appear to be balanced on each other without any additional supports, creating an unbelievable sight.
Inspired by Japanese rock gardens and cairn stones, it invites contemplation and aims to create a sense of order from the disorder. According to Joe Wonham, Designer at Duffy London, the Serenity table offers a chance to take a moment of reflection, to block out the outside world, and to draw focus from the point of balance.
