A stool can be a useful furniture addition to enhance smaller areas for sitting or displaying art, books or even placing a beverage. Built on similar lines is the Dots Stool, crafted by MMM Design Studio, an Industrial and Graphic design firm in Seoul with an endeavor to contribute towards the conservation of the environment.
The Dots Stool is a Green Concept furniture piece offering optimal efficiency without compromising comfort. The stool gleams with the concept of maximizing output while minimizing material consumption as it generates 4.5 times more units than a typical-sized stool while using the same amount of material.
Talking of its look, the stool is a blend of aesthetics and functionality fused in its minimalistic design. It visually marks its presence with two thick round tops – which seem like an atom split into two – and four long slender legs held in a criss-cross design in the center bringing stability and cohesiveness.
The thick round tops are made using plywood and measure 120mm (4.7 inches) each. By using only small discs to position the buttocks, the stool ensures minimalistic material consumption. It might be weird since the discs will seat one cheek each with about a 2-inch gap in between. Only sitting on it will tell how comfortable it is for that specific function.
