As I have mentioned before, I am getting slightly obsessed with creating DIY pumpkin alternatives for Halloween decorations this year. So far, I have got clay pumpkins, paper pumpkins, cloth pumpkins, balloon pumpkins, and yarn pumpkins. Next, I have DIY sock pumpkins for you. This one is so fun and turned out to be so cute that I am in love with these faux pumpkins.
I chose white socks because I didn’t have an orange pair. But I leave it to you to make your selection and DIY sock pumpkin for your Halloween and fall decorations. Since socks and cotton are the primary materials, it’s easy to pull off in 10 minutes. I had my younger brother help, you can even involve your kid to make one using their little sock.

How to Make Sock Pumpkin for Halloween
Step 1: Take a white sock, cut off the top or any brand logo and turn the sock inside out for a richer texture
Step 2: Stuff the sock with cotton, while making sure to fluff it as you keep filling it to maintain a round shape
Step 3: Once the sock is full, pull the top to close the shape. Take a thread and needle and put it at the bottom of the sock ball, pulling it all the way through inside to the top
Step 4: Tug on the thread to make an indentation on the side of the sock. Go back to the bottom from the outside and put the needle all the way inside. Make sure the needle comes out at a one-inch distance from the previous stitch
Step 5: Repeat the process until you have at least six or eight indentations to turn the sock ball into a fluffy pumpkin
Step 6: Seal off the top with the same thread and coil a jute twine with hot glue on the jutting sock to give it the appearance of a pumpkin stem
There you go. Now you have an incredibly cute DIY sock pumpkin to decorate your home with.
