A DIYer from Los Angeles named Marco Zamora has been in the news lately with his viral DIY floating Christmas tree. He teamed up with florist Juan Renteria to create the perfect optical illusion for the festive season. He has shared videos of DIY and finished installation on his Instagram page and people are awestruck by his creation.
Marco lives in a rented apartment and he wanted to create a Christmas tree with a bunch of florals on it. Moreover, he came up with a unique idea of creating it without a base. He first installed the tension rods on the ceiling and then suspended the basic skeleton of the tree using a fishing line which looks almost invisible thus creating the illusion that the tree is floating or suspended in the air.
Marco and Juan rolled up lightweight chicken wire in the desired shape to create the foundation for the floating Christmas tree. All other components used in this DIY project, be it the pine branches or the flowers are completely real.
Marco received questions from his followers on Instagram about how flowers are going to stay fresh. He answered this in one of his videos saying that he has water-tubed the flowers so that they stay fresh. He also mists the tree once a day. He said that this installation would last for up to a few weeks. Also, if the flowers start wilting, they can be replaced with new ones.

You can check out the video on his Instagram page. He believes that the greenery will last till Christmas. He also mentioned that every time he enters his apartment the scent of pine and flowers welcomes him.
This is a wonderful DIY project for Christmas and taking inspiration from Marco you can also try it at home if you haven’t already installed the tree. Let us know in the comments what you think about this viral floating Christmas tree.
