Bella is a nomad, who has been living on the road with her family from a young age. However, it took her long to embrace the nomadic lifestyle. Once she did, she embarked on a journey of adapting to a fulltime van life with fervor and enthusiasm. Her journey starts by turning a 2018 Mercedes Benz Sprinter with the help and guidance from her father into a comfy full-time living solution. Her DIY camper van is anything but ordinary. So let’s peek into her camper van and see how well she has cultivated this nest.
She bought the van from Facebook marketplace for $25,000 and spent months converting it into her dream home. Cutting low on her other expanses, she saved enough money to fulfill her dream. She has done a great job filling up the space with the things she cares about, making it as comfortable and homely as you would a traditional home.
She is an adventurer, often either rock climbing, swimming, or exploring the unknown. Consequently, the garage space is useful to stack her outdoor gear. She calls it a “storage for a multitude of things” where her clothes, guitar tools, and window shades are to be found. For an unstoppable adventure, her rig is powered by 270 amp hours of lithium batteries, 2000 watts of inverter charger, and 370 watts of solar power on the roof, and an alternate charger that charges everything while she drives. Now she plans to fit in a mountain bike, if the space demands.
Boasting 70 square feet of living space, we see an endearing combination of wood, green, and white cabinets popping up in the interior, turning her DIY camper van into a welcoming space. First is a tiny kitchen with larger than life functionality. She has integrated it with a cooktop that her family used to have in their RV, a sink, a microwave, a green cabinets underneath where she stores her pots and pans, a pull-out pantry, storage under the sink, and an adorable magnetic spice rack overhead.
Moving on to the other side, she has her living space, workspace, and dinette. It is a refreshing, bright, and airy area with a lot of green palette that goes well with the white walls and cabinets. She works as a freelance social media manager and for that she has integrated her living space with a flexible table where she can work, have dinner, and host people. But she didn’t think through the design which sometimes is not as comfortable for working. Otherwise, the space is dynamic and functional.
There is a bench with a junk drawer by the sofa to accommodates a mini fridge. Above this space, she has toiletries and makeup essentials neatly set in wall-mounted shelves. Two large cabinets give her additional space to store various items overhead. It seems she is a bit of a reader too, as she has a little designated spot for books next to the cabinets.

For the toilet, Bella has two large pull out drawers underneath the sofa. We must say, the space has been well optimized according to her needs. Now off to her bedroom that is the comfiest part of the van. It has a full-size mattress and a mattress topper so everything is cozy and snuggly. She keeps clothes in the cabinets above the bed.
Bella‘s DIY camper van has a myriad of windows to keep the compact interior bright and beaming. Every space is bestowed with natural light and fresh air. It is refreshing to see her choosing the life she dreamed of and finding it fulfilling and nurturing. We truly adore Bella’s little nest that she converted with the total cost of $26,000.
