Air travel with pets has always been a debatable issue. There are standard IATA Live Animal Regulations for airline pet cargo travel but if you are a serious pet parent, you are bound to be worried about the comfort of your pet during air travel. To ease out such parents, Delta Air Lines has good news.
Dubbed CarePod, Delta is launching a tech-infused pet carrier designed to improve the air travel experience for pets. It comes with several innovative safety features and provides real-time updates throughout the air travel so you can remain in touch with your pet’s travel experience through a smartphone.
Shawn Cole, Vice President Delta Cargo informs,
As the only airline to offer this premium pet travel solution, it represents a significant improvement for the millions of people who want to travel with their four-legged family members.
Walls of the CarePod are made from strong material and insulated for temperature consistency. Its multi-layered windows and doors with specially angled blinds create a comfy environment for pets. Inside, there is a water container that holds up to one-liter of water for the pet. It is an IATA compliant pet travel carrier, which can accommodate dogs and cats permitted in a 300 series crate.
With a built-in GPS tracking and monitoring system, the pet carrier is connected to the specialized Delta Cargo Control Center, managed by trained experts who digitally monitor and instruct the staff in case it’s necessary.
