Copper unveiled its battery-powered induction range Charlie at CES 2025. The high-end induction range plugs directly into a typical 120V outlet. Dubbed the “Tesla of induction stoves” by NYT Wirecutter, Copper Charlie is aimed at shedding off reliability on gas cooktops, which are harmful to health and the environment.
The full-sized oven and range features a ceramic glass cooktop, a 4.5 cubic-foot oven, and an integrated 5 kWh battery. Charlie can run off a standard plug by storing up a charge that can enhance the power output during cooking time. The stove can cook three to five meals during a power cut.
Copper has outfitted Charlie with a large LCD display, refined wooden dials and a handle, a sleek finish and clean lines. It is good enough to give your entire kitchen a makeover all on its own without the need for an actual renovation.
The range has dual precision sensors that let you balance the temperature throughout the oven ranging from 80 degrees Fahrenheit to 550 degrees Fahrenheit. The temperatures are four times faster than gas, allowing your food to cook quickly. It also includes multiple heating elements and fans to enable baking, convection baking, and broiling.
The best part is that it doesn’t need any additional installation. Just take out your old range and fit this one in, plug it in, and enjoy cooking without harm. The range comes in three options – stainless steel, Sea Salt White, and Azurite Blue with prices ranging from $6,000 to $6,900 for different colors. Copper Charlie is currently open for preorders and expected to ship in April 2025.
