Various speculations are being made about the US economy slumping this year and heading toward a big recession. There is probably nothing more scary than recession, but it does come with a few perks, especially if you are a tiny house builder. With less money circulating around and job cuts on the rise, more and more people would opt for a tiny house lifestyle. Cashing on the situation are various micro-dwelling builders around the globe. Oregon-based company Tiny Smart House is the latest to join the tally.
The tiny house builder has designed the California Cabin tiny house that features an efficient and minimal layout. Built on a double-axle trailer, the tiny house features a Lap-siding exterior with a single gable roof design, which makes it easier for homeowners to tow the micro-dwelling around whenever required. It comes in various lengths ranging from 16 to 44 feet.
Boasting bright pine tongue and groove ceiling, the tiny house interior is compact but not cramped. Luxury vinyl plank flooring blends well with the sheetrock walls, and plenty of windows allow air and light to pass in, hence keeping the room fresh and bright.
The tiny house features an elegant kitchen has a refrigerator with a freezer, a three-burner cooktop, various cabinets for storage, and an Acacia butcher block countertop for chopping and cutting. Not to mention, a drop-in double bowl stainless steel sink with a one-handle pull-down stainless steel faucet.

The tiny house also features two storage lofts. “The standard gable roof profile is not quite as spacious in the loft as the optional double gable dormers, however, this design works great with a bedroom on main floor and a small loft used for storage. We can build to standard 13′ 6″ height but shorter walls are available,” states the company. Accessed via a ladder, the two lofts can be used to keep nitty-gritty essentials.
The mobile habitat also features a bathroom that is equipped with a flush toilet and a shower. Overall, the California Cabin tiny house is an economical choice – costing just $57,800 – and allows you to spend the rest of your budget on add-ons like premium appliances or a solar system.
