I have been fascinated with campers since the time I saw one. There is something about these hunky trailers that I can’t get over. It’s not the finishing or functionality that makes them intriguing, but rather the amalgamation of all these factors paired with a rugged facade. One such rig that caught my attention today is the Arkto C10 designed by Edmonton, Alberta-based Arkto Campers.
Measuring barely under 17 feet in length, this compact overland travel trailer promises to blend convenience, durability, and off-road capability into a package that’s easy to tow. The first thing that caught my eye about the Arkto C10 trailer is its size, or rather, the lack of it. At just under 17 feet long and 6 feet wide, it’s noticeably smaller than its bigger sibling, the Arkto G12. In addition to configuration, the C10 is also 900 pounds lighter than the G12, standing at 2,750 lbs, meaning you won’t need a heavy-duty truck to haul it. Arkto has designed C10 keeping compact SUVs and Jeep Wranglers in mind.
The smaller footprint doesn’t imply that C10 would skimp on features. The biggest highlight of the trailer is its clever clamshell sleeping area that pops up to give you a generous 6-foot-11 inches of interior height, so you can stand upright and move around without feeling cramped. The trailer sleeps up to three people, which makes it ideal for a solo trip, a couple’s getaway, or even a small family adventure.
Another aspect of the C10 that has me impressed is its off-road chops. As noted by Gear Junkie, the trailer rolls on 31-inch all-terrain tires and features a Timbren independent suspension, which means it can tackle bumpy backcountry trails without rattling your gear. Not to mention, ground clearance and a composite body add to the durability and aesthetics.
Akin to most camper trailers, the C10 features an outdoor kitchen. Arkto has managed to pack a ton of functionality into this slide-out setup, which includes a dual-burner stove, a sink with hot and cold water, a prep deck, and a 10-cubic-foot pantry for all your snacks and supplies. There’s even a 113-liter fridge/freezer mounted inside, so your food stays fresh no matter how far off-grid you go. With USB and 110-volt outlets right there, I can keep my devices charged while I’m at it.

Inside, the trailer features plenty of storage for stashing camping gear, clothes, and whatever else you need for an extended trip. If you are someone who prefers staying off-the-grid, the camper comes with add-on options like 600 watts of solar power and 640 amp-hours of lithium batteries. Pair that with a 31-gallon freshwater tank and an outdoor shower, and you’ve got a setup that lets you disappear into the wilderness for days.
It’s worth giving a passing mention to the fact that the C10 similar to Shorty is garage-friendly. At just 7 feet-four inches tall with the roof down, it can sneak inside any traditional garage in the US. For those interested, the company is accepting pre-orders, with deliveries starting in July 2025. The company has priced the Arkto C10 camper trailer at CAD 64,000 (US $44,000).
