A couple, Austin and Ginny, have turned a mid-size skoolie into their humble abode, called the Bumpin Bus. It is one of the cutest bus conversions we have seen. The couple went for Boho aesthetics to make the bus beautiful, highly functional, and welcoming for themselves and their cat and dog. The bus conversion was done for $26,000. The exterior of the Bumpin bus is painted in soothing Sherwin-Williams tractor paint. It also has an outdoor table, which the couple uses as an outdoor prep table, or put drinks on when they have their friends around.
Their bus is integrated with an instant hot water system and an outdoor shower. The back hitch holds a rack for storing generators, while the rack at the front is for hooking up bikes. It is very mindful of them to utilize the exterior of this bus conversion in such a useful manner.
For the interior, they have it fully insulated except for the ceiling. The first thing is their quirky entryway with floor tiles on the walls, and for the stairs, they have used peel-and-stick tiles with the welcome rugs to give it more of a homely aspect. Their entryway is functional with a shoe rack with cane webbing for that Boho vibe. Further, you will find their cat’s litter box cleverly integrated into the space.
Then there is a TV above their dashboard which they use quite often. We love how they have decorated the space with little things like hanging plants and stickers. In that space, they also have integrated a security camera, speakers, a junk drawer for their go-to storage option, and a tiny cat bed by the window for their furry friend to take a nap.
Now we move on to their living area which is their happy place. A co-pilot seat at one side is for Ginny with additional storage. They have a large pull-out couch that turns into a full-size bed. The living space is multifunctional with the couch having storage underneath for their batteries, diesel heater, and their extra shoes, and the armrest is built with storage to hide their wires and stuff.

Next is the kitchen with a polyurethane butcher block countertop, a deep sink, a slide-out spice rack, a pantry, and Ikea cabinets for storage making the kitchen look classy and lovely. For the appliances, there is a microwave and a mini fridge. More plants are placed in the kitchen to make everything feel good and charming. An adorable Bohemian-themed dinette is parallel to the kitchen next to the living space. The couple sometimes uses this as a workspace. This place accommodates a dog bed, storage integrated ottomans, and seating, and to boost their connectivity they have antennas and routers attached to the place.
The bathroom – divided into two sections – acts as a partition between open plan living and cooking areas, and the bedroom at the rear. The all-tiled shower has a skylight and gives a good standing height that is perfect for Ginny, however, Austin still has to bend a little. On the other hand, their bathroom enclosed by a sliding door has a composting toilet and vanity sink. This unit is equipped with a closet and full-size mirror perfectly hidden behind the sliding door.
At last, the cozy bedroom of the Bumpin Bus comes with additional storage underneath, which they call a little garage. They keep water tanks and most of the plumbing in that space. The bedroom has a snuggly king-size bed and projector screen with a projector to keep them entertained. This Bumpin bus is their safe space, their home away on wheels.
