Meet Buffa collection created by Numen/ For Use design collective led by three product designers Sven Jonke, Christoph Katzler and Nikola Radeljković for Croatia-based furniture company Prostoria. It is a symbolic collection that gets its name from a revered Italian comic opera ‘Buffa,’ full of laughter and endearing moments. Symbolically, the collection is designed to bring a sense of playfulness and comfort with its plump, ergonomic design meant for both public and domestic settings.
The furniture collection includes a sofa, an armchair, and a pouf, all with a soft and supple form. With a vision to discard the traditional seating with rigid and angular style, the designers went for curvy and supple silhouettes to redefine comfort.
Upholstered in a variety of plush fabric, first in the collection we have the charming Buffa sofa. The sofa looks like a giant pillow, with every corner bringing an ease. The spiked armrests mirror horns of an animal, adding a touch of charm and whimsy; while doubling as a pillow should you nod off on the sofa. With its curvaceous and luxurious profile, it will perk up a living space, commercial center, or waiting area, and invite for a relaxing sitting experience. The sturdy legs are made from powder-coated steel, while the seat and backrest in HR foam and polyester wadding.
With similar contours and spiked shape, the Buffa Easy chair stands apart with its puffy profile that appeals with quirkiness. Outlining the ergonomics, the chair design embraces the sitter for heavenly experience. It is a swiveling furniture to allow ease of movement to the user. It is also available in a non-swiveling armchair version and comes with and without the horned armrests.
The chair can be used individually or paired with the Buffa sofa to upgrade the seating arrangement. It is also made in same materials as the sofa. The collection is incomplete without the Buffa pouf, which has a similar make as the rest of the lineup. The Buffa collection is perfect for modern, minimalistic interiors to add warmth and character of fluffy seating.
