Halloween is approaching and everybody is putting their best foot forward: Dressing up in terrifying costumes, setting up displays in their front yard, and/or decorating their homes with DIY props and decorations. Amid all this, kids are the most excited, and why shouldn’t they be?
Case in point, Bradyn Willis, a 12-year-old from Smithfield, Rhode Island, who has created a massive Halloween display that would put yours to shame. Bradyn has autism but that hasn’t stopped him from creating this coolest display in town, which also raiseses awareness of autism.
He says that he has ‘been decorating for the holiday for most of his life.’ And it shows in his scary and awe-inspiring Halloween display, which is not just for show and pomp but serves a greater, more humanitarian purpose.
Through his display, he is gathering donations for Autism awareness. Every person who visits can donate for Autism Speaks in a purple box by the donation sign at the entrance. I wonder, if a 12-year-old can show such compassion and awareness, why not us grownups? I guess maturity doesn’t come with age but with experience.
Back to his amazing Halloween display. It has an arched entrance that says, ‘Happy Hauntings.’ The display features more than 50 animatronics including Frankenstein, smoke-blowing witches, sinister skeleton heads, and creepy clowns all assembled to terrify the hell out of the visitors.

Each year Willis increases the size of his display to make it more frightening and stand out. This year’s display is nightmarish enough with ghostly inflatables, menacing soul reapers, and Skellington with their eyes and chest blazing with light.
He has also added colorful string lights, decorating his front yard to make the scene more festive. Furthermore, his massive Halloween display is a sight for sore eyes in the daytime but becomes vibrant at night when the lights are on.
For visitors, he does a daily walkthrough of his display at 267 Old County Road, RI. If you are nearby, don’t forget to visit and experience the best of Halloween and support his little campaign for the good. Keep the spook up and happy Halloween!
