German creative practice studio Nito has unveiled their colorful Bobina furniture collection at this year’s SaloneSatellite exhibition and award ceremony in Milan. Awarded third prize at the award ceremony, the collection features two different styles of tables and chairs in variety of colors such as yellow, pink, blue, black and gray.
The contemporary furniture is made from a mix of yarn and resin. It is inspired by textiles that are used in sewing or weaving. Using the process of layering and weaving, the yarn infused with resin has been molded around furniture frames to create three dimensional, solid structures.
Design of the furniture lineup is completely based on experimentation with textile and rigid structures. Minimalist appearance and soft feel of cotton thread makes the furniture comfortable against the user’s body. This furniture collection appears to be more suitable for patio, garden or backyard of your house, however it can also be used indoors.
The yarn and resin furniture units prove that even unconventional materials can be used to create aesthetically practical objects. Bobina furniture will be a wonderful addition to any contemporary home interior or any outdoor space. Find out more about the collection on the designer’s official website.
