Sheyn, a Vienna-based design studio known for creating digital architecture has launched a range of unique 3D-printed vases named Blend collection. This collection features a variety of vases or ‘tiny architecture’ as the founding duo of Sheyn Nicolas Gold and Markus Schaffer like their creations to be called. While handmade vases have their charm and have been in fashion for a very long time, this collection achieves something extraordinary with the help of the digital process and unique material used for the creation.

The theme of these vases revolves around the playfulness of colors that look creative and imaginative. There are creations like Watermelon, Cotton Candy, Acai, Peppermint, and Bubblegum that draw one’s attention with the uniqueness of structure and visual treat that these vases offer. They are iridescent, and when you view these Bloz vases they create a beautiful pattern of color from different angles. Such an element of visual magnetism is rarely seen in handcrafted vases.

The design of the various pieces in the Blend vase collection is something to admire, and even though they seem heavy, they are surprisingly light. They have a sense of fluidity and display asymmetrical blob-like forms. The 3D-printing achieves a kind of structure which when one looks closely has beautiful ridges wrapped around the body of Bloz vases. The detailing achieved by the digital production process is inspiring if you are into 3D-printed designs.

Interestingly, the design duo has used special ecological materials to create these vases. Sheyn is previously known for employing sustainable techniques in their creations and this one is no different. They also make use of state-of-the-art modeling and fabrication methods.

Some creations from the Blend vase collection will be showcased at an exhibition in Copenhagen where visitors will get a chance to see the live 3D-printing process behind these Bloz vases. As mentioned on the Sheyn website, the price of these vases ranges from $150 to $250.
