Some of these gadgets are about to enter production, while others are still in the developmental phase, and will have release dates determined by critical reception. Now, that it’s time to wrap up IFA 2024 coverage, it’s time for us to look back at what we’ve seen and determine the most innovative smart home tech from the event.
From transparent air fryers to stair-climbing robovac, we present the top ten home-centered innovations that more than caught our eye at IFA 2024. Each product exhibited significant innovation and technological advancement, evoking curiosity and wonder. Here are the highlights from IFA this year.
Roborock Qrevo Curv
From vacuum cleaners that do precise navigation and floor mopping to dust busters that double as a mop and self-clean themselves, we have seen it all in the Robovac industry. However, Roborock bought something to the show that may change the vacuum cleaning industry forever. Roborock showed off the Qrevo curv robot vacuum at IFA that boasts an AdaptiLift Chassis for seamless adaptation to different floor types, ensuring optimal and effortless cleaning. With an impressive 18,500Pa suction power and a dual anti-tangle system, it’s designed to tackle every cleaning challenge, including stairs (potentially in the near future).
Kanto REN Active Speaker
Among several speakers displayed at the show, the Canadian speaker brand Kanto’s REN Active speaker was the one to watch out for. While its bright orange color garnered the most attention, the speakers stood out for its top-notch features including a power output of 100W RMS (200W Peak Power). Additionally, the speaker supports an HDMI ARC connection with CEC, thus being compatible with a TV setup. It also supports Bluetooth 5.3, optical inputs and USB-C, The latter port lets users connect the REN speakers to an iPhone 15, Android devices, and digital audio players, and much more.
SwitchBot Air Purifier Table
Specifically designed to combat pet hair and odors, the SwitchBot Air Purifier removes 93.45% of all floating pet hair and 98.18% of odors in under 30 minutes. This is possible courtesy of its 360-degree all-around hair suction and a specially designed large suction grill. But that’s not all, the purifier also features wireless Qi charging for phones and an ambient light function with customizable colors and brightness levels.
TCL X11H Mini-Led TV
Available in 85-inch and 98-inch sizes, TCL’s latest creation, the X11H Mini-LED TV is a game changer in the home entertainment domain. The X11H boasts 6,500 nits of brightness hence flaunting a superior visual performance. Considering, that around 3,000 nits are the most you get from the more standard-priced mini-LED TVs, TCL X11H has set a new benchmark for the TV industry.
Yaber K3 Pro
Among a gaggle of projectors presented at IFA 2024, Yaber’s K3 Pro stool out to us. The Yaber K3 Pro projector features the CoolSwift cooling system and NovaGlow optical technology for 1080p FHD resolution and 1,600 ANSI lumens brightness. Additionally, the Yaber K3 Pro projector includes 15W speakers inside capable of supporting Dolby Audio for a rich, immersive sound experience.
Technics Turntable
Technics did launch a speaker at IFA 2024, but it was the turntable that made headlines. The Panasonic acquired company brought a luxurious SL-1300G that featured a striking brass platter, direct-drive motor, and refined sound output, appealing to vinyl enthusiasts. Specs-wise, the SL-1300G features a more advanced iron core-less motor that reduces cogging, ensuring smoother rotation and superior playback clarity. Not to mention, a heavy platter that includes rubber bottom layers for dampening vibrations.
Gourmia Panorama Digital Air Fryer
Simplifying life in the kitchen, Gourmia, a Brooklyn-based kitchen appliance brand presented Panorama Digital Air Fryer at IFA 2024. The innovative appliance offers a transparent top and bottom for clear visibility while cooking. It reminds me of see-through glass toasters that were popular a few years back. The fryer’s bladeless technology ensures optimal airflow and culinary precision, complemented by a dishwasher-safe basket and crisper tray for easy cleaning.
Altas PT Ultra Smart Home Security Camera
The demand for smart home security cameras has grown multifold in the past decade. Amid many makers across the globe, Reolink has somehow maintained its supremacy and trust amid the masses. Strengthening its claim further, Reolink unveiled the Altas PT Ultra smart home security camera at IFA 2024. The security camera stands out for its crystal-clear true 4K 8MP image made possible with its pixel-dense 4mm lens. The camera includes a 20,000mAh battery for extended recording times: it can deliver a 12-hour continuous recording per day for up to 8 days, in just a single charge.
