French artist Benedetto Bufalino is well known for transforming everyday objects into unique installations. Earlier this year, he converted a red Fiat Coupe into a street food car and now he is in the limelight for turning an old city bus into a swimming pool, most recently installed at the Louvre-Lens Park, Artois, northern France.
This unique bus conversion facilitates up to 10 swimmers at a time and also reminds of the importance of recycling in the modern world. The bus is toppled over on its side and the interior space is modified like a standard swimming pool to store water. A nice soft blue colored water can be seen in the pictures.
Swimming pool bus, possibly an apt name for the installation, is built in collaboration with the local development agency Euralens. The pool is 2.3 meters wide, 9 meters long and 1.50 meters deep, with a staircase at one end.
