In today’s fast-paced world, many of us are stuck indoors or immersed in work, missing the soothing glow of sunrise and sunset. The golden hues of those moments can profoundly affect our minds, offering a sense of calm and relaxation. Imagine bringing that warm, serene light indoors, creating an ambiance that lifts your spirits, energizes you, and provides a comforting environment at home. That’s where the Bahar wooden floor lamp comes into play as it is not just a lamp but an experience.
The Bahar wooden floor lamp, designed and handcrafted by The Noora in Adelaide, Australia, brings the magic of natural light into your home. This unique lamp, which won the Honorable Mention Lighting Design Award at the 2024 LIT Lighting Design Awards, is built with precision using fine solid wood and LED strip lights.
Featuring adjustable brightness and a sleek, minimalist design that seamlessly blends with any kind of interior décor or furniture, Bahar is like a beautiful luxury furniture piece. Its touch panel and dimmable options allow you to customize the lighting to suit your mood. The designers, Alireza Noferesti, Ehsan Moshtagh, and Ali Kowsari, have poured over two years of effort into creating this innovative lighting piece, achieving perfection with every detail.
The design journey behind Bahar was deeply personal for the team at The Noora. Founder Alireza Noferesti recalls the first time they powered on the prototype and witnessed the lamp’s soft, enveloping glow. Bahar wasn’t just crafted to be a light source, but to transform spaces. Whether it’s placed in a living room, bedroom, or kids’ room, Bahar serves as a perfect fit, whether standing solo or used in clusters to add a cozy charm. Its calming yet energizing glow makes it the best addition to any home, even as an installation piece for ambient lighting like those found in museums or art galleries.

Bahar offers three height options: 70 cm, 85 cm, and 110 cm, with each lamp available in wood types like ash, oak, and walnut for a distinct look. It suffices as a heirloom furniture apart from a lighting piece as it is built to last for years.
The minimal design keeps it light between 2 kg and 4.5 kg depending on size, and is priced between $490 and $800. As of now, the lamp is being crowdfunded on Kickstarter and is expected to ship in mid-2025 to the US and Australia. The Noora also has plans to launch an Android app later in 2025, followed by an iOS version, offering users even more control over their lighting experience.
If you’ve ever craved that perfect golden light, why not bring it inside? Bahar is not just about lighting your room but creating the perfect mood for any occasion.
