Approximately, a year back August launched its first home security device Smart lock – a lock that can be easily managed by virtual or digital keys and a dedicated mobile application. Working toward the aim to provide secure, connected and easy-to-manage homes, August has unveiled its three new smart home products that bring style to smart home security devices.
To manage and handle latest threats and security issues, all new products are premiered with a brand new service called August Access. An advance technology that will change the way you interact with your home, thus helping you to grant access to delivery person, maid or kids, etc., with the help of your smartphone.
San Francisco-based firm has also collaborated with many home service providers like Sears, Postmates, Prro.com and Doorman to provide beta services to help owners remotely access doors. The three new products include Homekit enabled smart lock, smart keypad and doorbell cam.
August smart lock
The next-gen door lock system enabled with HomeKit gives you freedom to control locks with voice. The updated version of mobile application and voice control integration with Siri also helps you to lock, unlock and check status of the door. Retail priced is $229, however the original model is still available for $199.
August smart keypad
Designed to work with smart lock for easy entrance, it creates custom entry for family and guests to unlock the lock without using keys or smartphones. The dedicated mobile app helps you in creating and sharing the codes while keeping a track of when the door is locked and unlocked and at what time. Powered by AA batteries, the keypad comes for $79.
August doorbell cam
The doorbell cam allows you to see and speak with the visitor from anywhere. Equipped with one-way, HD video and two-way audio to ensure maximum privacy. Even if doorbell stays unanswered, the high-tech motion detection captures images of people at door. The cam is available in four vibrant colors and connects to your smart devices easily via Bluetooth. Easy to install, the $199 cam takes hardly 10 minutes to install.
The mobile app gives you freedom to grant access, view activity log and create keys for the smart keypad. Available for Android and iOS devices, user can also use Apple Watch to manage home activities like locking/unlocking, receiving notifications and viewing activity log.
