Anker announced a slew of portable power essentials under its Solix brand at CES 2025, which includes a new electric cooler, portable chargers, and its first solar umbrella with perovskite solar cells. Anker Solix solar beach umbrella is designed to charge your electronics, including coolers and phones, in the great outdoors without any fuss.
There are many existing solar-powered beach umbrellas out there but Anker’s offering stands out for its use of perovskite solar panels. Anker says these cells provide 30 percent better performance compared to traditional crystalline silicon solar cells in bright light and double the proficiency in low light.
The Solix umbrella features solar panels embedded into the canopy to deliver a 100-watt output. It offers 80 watts of power to portable devices via USB-C. It can power the EverFrost 2 cooler and other compatible devices with an XT60 connector.
The solar beach umbrella pairs nicely with its new EverFrost electric cooler that can keep your beverages cool for up to 100 hours. It can be used with a standalone base if you do not want to pair it with the cooler. However, it is nice to know that it can be attached to the cooler to power it when it is low on charge. Needless to say, it is a handy addition to your beach accessories.
If you are not a beach person, Anker’s solar umbrella can be placed on your patio table for the summer. The Solix umbrella is portable, collapsible, and designed to protect you from rain like a normal umbrella. Thanks to the IP67 rating, the solar umbrella comes certified to withstand outdoor elements.
It can charge your phones and other gadgets quickly, and power up Anker’s other portable power stations. This a great news as you can store as much power as you can during the warmer months to be utilized during bad weather and power outages.
There is no word on the pricing or release date of the Anker Solix solar beach umbrella. We expect it to be available in the spring/summer of this year.
